Our core base of new employees arises out of previously disadvantaged individuals.
We have a concise Internship/Mentorship Program which allows previously disadvantaged individuals to gain valuable experience within e.com institute or through our partners or customers Mentorship programs.
The objective of this program is to introduce and educate IT students from previously disadvantaged communities on Software Development and general business solutions. The skills development needs of the interns are assessed in conjunction with the skills needed within our organization and the industry. A skills development program is then created to build on the intern's education already obtained and their desired career path.
This skills development program includes
- Skills assessment of the individual
- Technical training
- Mentorship/ Coaching
- Continuous review of learning’s
Through this program they become marketable with a solid reference of experience gained in a working environment. Many interns are also exposed to a Software Development program, thereby gaining knowledge and experience in our solution sets. Once fully trained, they have the opportunity to be employed on a full-time basis to assist with the ongoing development and sales of these solutions. If they are not employed by e.com they have the skills and experience to be employed elsewhere in the industry.
We also provide a "Vacation Work" program for students from Schools, Universities and Technikons.
