e.com institute has been a Black Economic Empowerment Company developing secure and comprehensive business solutions since its inception in early 1999. e.com institute is committed to redressing past imbalances to create a level playing field in the IT industry. Employment Equity and procurement policies ensure the company is setting a trend in dealing with suppliers with PDI status.
As a BEE company that understands the critical impact of a progressive affirmative action policy, we are very involved in increasing the available opportunities for black people in our company. As a rule, we always analyse the availability of skills in the Black community first, before embarking on employment opportunities within the broader community. Although our Employment Equity figures are better than the target set, we are still committed to increasing affirmative action employment to at least 75% within the company (including contract employees) within the next 12 months. |

Presently an Employee Equity Share Plan is in place for all employees and is currently held in Proxy. We are finalising plans for a formal Employee Equity Share Trust, which is in an advanced stage and will be implemented during the next 12 months.
Our empowerment and employment equity strategies have ensured that we are able to address the various levels of historical inequalities. We are determined to empower the historically disadvantaged individuals of our country by leveraging on and transferring the business and technology skills of experienced professionals to a new source of empowered business professionals. In this way we will not only increase the number of available resources but will also create a sustainable team of quality resources. In so doing we have been rewarded with an EmpowerDex accreditation.
We are fully empowered in terms of the Draft ICT Charter and by being committed to ongoing management development programs, Skills Transfer, Procurement Policies, and Social Responsibility programs geared up to assist other businesses with their employment equity initiatives, we are solidifying our empowerment status. In addition to facilitating further transformation we run mentorship programs and help foster an awareness of the industry and our role in it.
We believe a truly empowered organisation is defined by a knowledge sharing culture. We utilize our own uniquely developed knowledge and information management solution which is geared around the critical success elements that ensure the implementation of this knowledge sharing culture within our internal environment. Through our wealth of skills and experience in this field, we ensure our customers receive true business value which relates back to a measurable return on investment made by engaging in business with e.com institute.
